Organizations
Be a key player:
As a leader, professional, or volunteer in youth work organizations, you are an important part of the support network for young people in Austria.
You are close to the young people and often recognize early on when they need support.
Skill Check:
You help young people discover their strengths and interests and identify new opportunities. In doing so, you also support them in fulfilling their legal obligation to receive an education until their 18th birthday.
Teamwork makes the dream come true!
"Education Until 18" operates as a network: schools, youth services, counseling centers, apprenticeship programs, businesses, the AMS, and the Ministry of Social Affairs work together to ensure that young people receive support and find a path that suits them. To achieve this, it must be clear which resources and support partners are available. This is where the regional coordination offices for "Education Until 18" come into play.
Comeback Plan
If a teenager isn't sure what to do next, is thinking about dropping out, or has already dropped out, you can help them find the right place to turn to.
The regional coordination offices help young people fulfill their mandatory education requirements and, if necessary, refer them to youth coaching services. The AMS offers career and educational counseling and helps young people find suitable opportunities, such as an inter-company apprenticeship.
In youth coaching or at the AMS, an individualized plan for future prospects or support is developed together with the young person. This plan outlines how the compulsory education requirement can be fulfilled—for example, through school, an apprenticeship, or partial certification.
